About Us
What we do:
· help support students who want to make a change in their lives
· help strengthen and prepare nontraditional students transition to a college or career training
· help ESL students prepare to transition to High School Equivalency test classes
· help students who want to transition to a career pathway
We offer face to face discussions, offer presentations geared towards career and college readiness, and student exploration. We use tools like career exploration and build career profiles to help our students get a better feel for the career that most interests them. We also help guide students in the right direction about how to begin the college enrollment process.

Who Are We?
We are a team here to provide students with information needed to become successful adult learners. From one nontraditional student to another, I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Patricia Carrasco, and I am a classroom aide assigned to help students transition smoothly into a career or college path which interests them. I work along side the Transitions Instructor who has recently graduated from Texas A &M International University. I have worked in the adult education field for 5 years and am currently working on my bachelor's degree in Business Administration. I started off like many of you. I was unsure of what I wanted to do in my life. I have a husband and two young children. I work very hard to keep the balance between work, school, and home life. I will be honest, it is a real challenge, but with the support of both my coworkers and family, I have been able to continue on with my education. Early on, I had the privilege of working with a previous Transitions Instructor who encouraged me to dream big. She motivated me to try something I never could imagine myself doing. That was, to enroll in college. It has been interesting trying to navigate through college. I have made my share of mistakes, but those mistakes have only made me a stronger student. I hope to help you overcome some of the challenges I have had to endure and help make your transitions experience a positive one.
Our History
Our transitions program is fairly new, but we have experienced staff working to help students. We are on our second year helping students transition from where they are now to where they want to be. We have put together different tools and information to help students understand what it takes to make the needed changes which are necessary for them to obtain personal and academic growth. We are just one part of a team that envisions our students going as far as they allow themselves to go. Our entire program is motivated to help students just like you flourish.
